Preputial advancement: Patient was placed in dorsal recumbency and prepuce was sterilely prepared. Persistent frenulum (photo in vet docs) was noted at the ventral aspect and incised. A crescent shaped piece of skin was removed cranial to the prepuce using a #15 blade. The preputial muscles were identified and shortened by overlapping them and then suturing using 3-0 PDS in a horizontal mattress pattern. The skin edges were then apposed using 3-0 PDS in several simple interrupted knots. Sutures were placed in the skin a cruciate pattern using 3-0 PDS. The opening of the prepuce was noted to be too large and therefore preputial reconstruction was also performed to narrow the orifice by incising at the mucocutaneous junction and re-apposing the mucosa and skin in separate layers using 4-0 PDS. Photos in vet docs P: Place e-collar (pet broke the one placed yesterday) Prioritize placement ASAP Rx: Carprofen 4.4mg/kg PO SID x7d Rx: Clavamox 375mg PO BID x7d Rx: Gabapentin 700mg PO BID x10d

Summary (6):: 7/20/25: It was reported on the whiteboard that Bruno is reactive to the neighboring kennels and pop-ups. 7/20/25 (Trainer Note): Bruno is laying down in the back of his kennel and sleeping as handler approaches. He shakes off and approaches with a neutral body. Bruno is easily leashed and removed from kennel, as he exits the room he very mildly kennel fights. He is taken for a brief street walk to relieve himself and then to the PAC room for a training session. He is engaged with handler and receptive to training. Handler introduces "Look At That" protocol training. He is highly receptive, handler is introduces verbal cue at the end of the session. He is successfully being shown a neutral object, he immediately disengages, and is rewarded. Towards the end of the session, handler attempted to pair the cue with the behavior. He is returned to kennel without issue. 7/17/25: Bruno has been observed to be digging intensely at the kennel room and biting the glass in PAC. ACS also report that his dog reactivity has become more intense.
Summary (7):: 07/15/25: Bruno is neutral bodied and quiet as handler approaches. Upon opening kennel door, Bruno is distracted by neighboring dogs barking, begins to stand on hind legs and bark towards the front right (left from inside kennel) corner of kennel ignoring the leash, after a being coaxed over, taking a few treats, Bruno is leashed on second attempt. Bruno walks out of MACC with light pulling. Bruno sees dogs, will visually fixate and stiffen body. Handler is able to distract/redirect with treats and verbal cues. When exiting driveway, a dog is within 10 feet of him, he pulls toward with high pressure with stiff body and furrowed brow. Handler uses leash pressure to move Bruno away, as distance increases to 20-25+ feet Bruno is neutral bodied and walking with light pulling. Bruno checks in with handler when cued, catches treats when tossed to him, sits on command. Bruno re-enters MACC and kennel without issue. 7/10/25: Bruno is observed to muzzle punch the door while in kennel when other dogs are passing. When on leash Bruno will approach the other dogs kennel and muzzle punch it. 7/09/25: Bruno is observed to be facing his kennel wall towards his neighbor while jumping up very high and persistently barking and heavily panting. 6/27/25: Bruno is jumping and barking at the front of his kennel as handler approaches. He is able to be leashed with treats and is then taken outside for a walk. On the walk, he would pull ahead and reapproach the handler to receive treats. He would have a tense body and pull hard towards dogs nearby and across the street. He is not easily able to be redirected with treats until he is further away from the dogs. He pulls on the way back to kennel and enters with no issue. 6/18/25: Bruno is at the front of his kennel with a neutral body. He is easily leashed and removed from kennel. He is walked on the street. He explores his surrounding sniffing spot to spot. When handler attempts to coax him to the side or to walk in another direction. He will not move for treats or squeaker sounds. He move quickly in the direction of select members of the public, neutral body. In the behavior room, he approaches another handler soft body wagging tail. He allows collaring while distracted by treats. He is returned to kennel using treats as a lure as he will not be easily redirected to his kennel.

Summary:: Friendly
Date of initial:: 6/17/2025
Summary:: Leans into pets but thrashes with restraint
ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Bruno so we cannot be certain of their behavior in a home environment. However, they will need daily mental and physical activity to stay engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct their energy and enthusiasm.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: Level 2
Recommendations:: No young children (under 5),Recommend no dog parks
Recommendations comments:: No young children (under 5): Due to fearful behavior we recommend a home with no young children. Recommend no dog parks: Due to the concerning behaviors that Bruno has shown during playgroup (see DOG-DOG SUMMARY), we feel that Bruno should not visit dog parks. The Behavior Department recommends that he be socialized in a more controlled setting until his behavior toward other dogs can be further addressed.
Potential challenges: : Destructive behavior,Fearful,On-leash reactivity/barrier frustration
Potential challenges comments:: Destructive Behavior: When the finder brought Bruno into their home he was destructive in the bathroom. Bruno will need to be provided with physical and mental stimulation and with a variety of appropriate and engaging chew toys so they can engage in necessary chewing behavior without damage to human objects. Please see handout on Destructive Behavior. Fearful: During hiss medical exam Bruno was observed to resist restraint. During his assessment Bruno was observed to move his legs away from contact. It should always be their choice to approach a new person or thing. Bruno would do best in an initially calm and quiet home environment and should be given time to acclimate to their new surroundings. Please see handout on Decompression Period. On Leash Reactivity: Bruno has been observed to muzzle punch the kennel door when dogs are passing by. He is also observed to pull towards other dogs kennels and muzzle punch when exiting the kennel room. Bruno will need positive reinforcement, reward based training to teach them to look at you rather than other dogs. We recommend a front clip harness to help manage this behavior. Please see handout on On Leash Reactivity and Barrier Frustration.
