Animal Profile

Pucci

Hello, my name is Pucci. My animal id is #255481. I am a desexed male brown tabby cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years 1 months 1 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 5/27/2026, with the surrender reason stated as not a fit - too many animals already.

Pucci needs at risk placement for medical reasons. He is a sweet cat with severe inflammation of his eyelids and conjunctiva that is not responding to supportive care in shelter. He needs placement in a veterinary clinic and then a peaceful home to recover.

Let's get to know each other a bit more...

This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information. Pucci needs at risk placement for medical reasons. He is a sweet cat with severe inflammation of his eyelids and conjunctiva that is not responding to supportive care in shelter. He needs placement in a veterinary clinic and then a peaceful home to recover. A volunteer writes: Pucci comes from a house full of cats. No information was attached to them as they arrived at the care center...Pucci is a super handsome tiger, a tabby in white boots and mittens who knows how to pose for the photo shoot. He was sooo shy when he came in and so ready now for meets and greets with his visitors. He enjoys petting, leans against my hand, returns soft blinks and purrs softly. Pucci has become a favorite among volunteers as he is so calm, friendly and easy going.. As he comes from a large family of cats, not very much exposed to people, Pucci will likely need time and patience from his new family and a low traffic home without small children to bloom into a happy and lively pet. Will you give Pucci the chance to be yours? He is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center. I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them. Pucci has made excellent improvement since his first assessment and was lying quietly inside his cubby. He accepted petting on his head, cheek, and along his back. He was treat-motivated and very sweet. Pucci interacts with the observer, solicits & appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.
