Summary:: Due to Silver entering the facility as a stray, there is no prior dog-to-dog history recorded. 04/23/25: When off leash at the Care Center Silver is introduced to a novel female dog. At the gate Silver approaches aroused with tail wags. Both dogs scent one another through the gate. Silver will offer prey bows while demand "chirping / vocalizing". The novel female, displaying hackles becomes avoidant as she walks away from the gate. Silver will remain present still vocalizing as the novel female seeks out the handler. The novel female does not return to the gate, this concludes the interaction.
Summary (7):: 05/21/25: Silver is standing at the front of his kennel with a loose and wiggly body as the handler offers him a frozen meatball, which he devours within seconds. He then returns to the front of his kennel, maintaining a soft body as he waits to be leashed. Silver is leashed with ease and brought outside for an enrichment walk. While outside, he continues to display a soft and loose body, walking on a loose leash as he explores his surroundings. He sniffs around while wagging his tail and briefly breaks into a burst of zoomies, running until he reaches the end of the leash. Silver later approaches the handler, sits in front of them while wagging his tail, then jumps up and places his snout inside the handler’s pouch, seeking treats. Once the session has ended, Silver is escorted back to the care center and returned to his kennel safely. 5/15: Silver's kennel is covered to reduce visual stressors due to him persistently hard barking and screeching at people and other dogs that pass him. 5/12/25: Silver greeted handler at front of kennel to be leashed and pulled on the way outside. Due to DOH status, Silver was kept on premises and walked to the yard via the ramp. There was heavy dog/handler traffic outside which Silver seemed alert to. He became increasingly aroused as they progressed up the ramp, panting heavily and pulling very hard on leash. Another staff member was walking a dog on the sidewalk right against the fence, seemingly unaware of Silver's approach. Staff member did not create space for Silver like other staff did, and Silver was confined to the ramp. Handler asked staff member to walk their dog further away from the fence but by that point they were passing each other. Once in the yard that had a visual barrier on the fence, handler gave Silver a chance to reset before clipping him to a drag leash. Silver explored the yard and relieved himself while outside. Silver pulled on the way back inside and was guided into kennel without issue due to location being right beside the door. 5/14 (assessment): An ACS brings Silver to the behavior office for his handling assessment. He is loose and wiggly upon entering the room, immediately jumping on the two handlers in the office. Silver maintains his loose and wiggly body, attempting to jump onto desks and the couch. Once his assessment is complete, he is offered some lickable treats to help him settle before dressing him with a freedom harness to help reduce his pulling on the lead. He tolerates this and continues to eat spray cheese and then returns to his kennel without issue.

Potential challenges comments:: Basic manners/poor impulse control: Silver jumps up non-stop, indicating a need for training to improve his impulse control and basic manners.
