Client noted he mostly gets along with small dogs.Knows to relieve himself outside during walks and will only have accidents indoors a few times a monthHe has general anxiety and can be anxious when left alone. On walks he is reactive towards cats and other dogs with his reaction being to growl or hard bark.He is noted to barks often.Is unbothered by being held or restrained, disturbed when sleeping, being startled or moved from furniture, having his paws touched or collar grabbed.He is described as a vocal, social, affectionate, active and playful yet lazy couch potato who spends most of his time in the bedroom of his home when he is not following his family around the residence. He allows his family to bathe him, brush him, and trim his nails, has experience being in crates despite not being the biggest fan of them, and he knows the cues sit and stay. He loves going for a car ride, on his usual 2 walks a day he goes on for 15mins at a time (not a fan of long walks) and only pulls moderately on his leash. His family stated he is a very sweet dog who likes to cuddle and sleep most of the day but when he is able to be lose an playing with family he acts like a puppy. Housetrained: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Low Other Notes: Milo is anxious when left alone. He isn't bothered during storms/fireworks. He isn't bothered when his food/bowl, treats and toys are touched/taken away. He is friendly during grooming, when disturbed while sleeping/resting, and when someone unfamiliar approaches the owner, family members and home. Has this dog ever had any medical issues? Yes Medical Notes Milo has been barely eating for two months, drinks lots of water, had drops of blood in diarrhea, bites his tail. For a New Family to Know Milo is described as a friendly and affectionate, indoors only, LMB with a low activity level. Milo hobbies include: dressing up in costumes for holidays and taking selfies for family photos, celebrating his birthday with party hats and cake, and lounging on my mom's bed. When home with his family, he will follow you around, wanting to be in the same room as you. He sleeps on his bed or in his owner's bed. He eats Pedigree dry food only. He is trained to relieve himself outside on the grass/cement.

He is reported to mostly get along with small dogs. 06/14/26 Milo is introduced to a novel female while off leash. He is wary to approach and will look at the female from afar. Previous Stay:GATE GREET 7/9/23: Milo greets the helper dog with a soft body and tail wag.

Summary (5):: 9/21/26: Milo is observed with an ACS to not want to walk outside, and bark at the handler until they eventually moved around the parking lot until he was coaxed very slowly to the yards. He returns to kennel with no issue, but can be heard barking all the way back until inside the building. 9/3/26: Milo is standing at the front of his kennel as handler approaches. He begins to bark at the door as the handler unlocks it and is able to be leashed while being distracted with treats. He then pulls hard out of kennel and begins to bark towards the dogs in kennels as he walks by. He is then taken outside through the elevator towards the yards. When reaching outside, he instantly relieves himself and then refuses to continue walking forward. He would begin to constantly bark and back away after he takes a treat. He then pulls into the building an is returned back to his kennel with no further issues. 08/19/26 (Trainer Note): Milo is laying on his bed as handle approaches, then comes up to the front while barking repeatedly. He is easily leashed and led to the elevator to go outside. Handler rewards Milo frequently and he readily gets into the elevator and out the back door. After getting about 15ft outside he stops walking and starts barking repeatedly. Handler tries to lure him with food, but he won't budge or take food. Handler leads him back towards the door and works on 123 and touch in the area just outside the back door. He readily engages and is able to focus on the handler and stop barking. Milo is then returned to his kennel after with no issue. 07/30/26 (Trainer Note): Milo is laying on his bed as the handler approaches. He stands and comes to the front of the kennel, barking repeatedly. Milo is easily leashed and pulls moderately to the canine training room. He allows the handler to attach a drag leash. The handler works with him on the 123 game, touch, and take a breath. Milo engages with interest. He is returned to the kennel without issue.

Summary (6):: 07/24/26: Milo is laying on his bed as the handler approaches. He gets up and comes to the front of the kennel, barking while the handler leashes him. He continues to bark throughout the building, not stopping at any point. He relieves himself in the hallway, then continues barking and refuses to move forward. Milo is returned to his kennel. 07/22/26 (Trainer Note): Milo is laying on his bed as the handler approaches. He comes to the front and starts barking repeatedly. He is easily leashed and pulls moderately to the canine training room. The handler gets more treats before walking him outside. As Milo gets to the steps, he begins to bark and balk, refusing to walk forward. The handler lures him with treats and the touch cue and he is able to walk up the stairs and outside. However, once he gets outside he begins to pull back into the building. Milo is returned to kennel without issue. 07/20/26 (Trainer Note): Milo is laying on his bed as handler approaches. He then comes to the front and starts barking repeatedly. He is easily leashed with food and brought to the behavior office. Handler works on 123 and touch, Milo readily participates and intermittently leans in for pets. Milo is returned to kennel with no issue. 07/16/26 (Trainer Note): Milo is sleeping on his bed as the handler approaches. He stands and comes to the front, barking repeatedly. The handler brings him to the canine training room and he leans into contact. The handler works with him on the 123 game, take a breath, and touch. Milo participates readily and is returned to kennel without issue.

Summary (7):: 07/08/26 (Trainer Note): Milo is brought to the canine training room. He is loose and social with handlers, displaying a helicopter tail. He allows the handler to attach a drag leash and explores the room, sniffing intently. The handler works with him on the 123 game, take a breath, and touch. Milo participates readily. He is easily leashed and returned to kennel without issue. - JM 07/02/26 (Trainer Note): Milo is laying on his bed as the handler approaches. He stands and comes to the front, barking repeatedly. The handler brings him to the canine training room and Milo barks the entire way. Milo works with the handler on the 123 game and conditioning the yes verbal marker. He participates readily. Another handler enters the room and he appraoches with a loose body and helicopter tail. Two more handlers enter later and he barks with a helicopter tail. Milo is easily leashed and returned to kennel without issue. 06/27/26: It's noted on the whiteboard that Milo did not want to exit the building after relieving himself in the hallway. It was also noted that a handler had to use the elevator to get Milo to exit the building. 06/26/26: Milo is laying on his bed as the handler approaches. He barks, but he is leashed with ease. In the hallway, Milo refuses to walk up the stairs. The handler cannot turn him around due to dog traffic, but is able to eventually coax him up the stairs with treats. Milo is brought to a play yard outside. He sniffs around, then just stands there. The handler offers him treats, which he has no interest in, then offers him chicken. He puts the chicken in his mouth and spits it out, as he is more interested in licking the bag of chicken than the actual chicken. After a few minutes, Milo begins barking and backing up. When the handler exits the play yard with him, he stops barking and returns to his kennel without issue. 06/14/26 (PG): Milo is at the front of his kennel as the handler approaches. He is leashed with ease and brought outside. He walks very slowly. In the yard, he is hesitant to walk forward, likely because of the heat. He is brought back to his kennel without issue. 6/12/26: Milo is standing in his kennel as handler approaches. He begins to bark as the handler unlocks the door and while being leashed. Once leashed he is then slowly taken to the behavior room for his assessment. In the room, he would demand bark at the handlers for treats. He would become tense while being collared and while being petted. Please see behavior assessment notes for more details. He is able to return back to his kennel with no issues.

Recommendations comments:: No children (under 13): We reccomend Milo is placed in a home with No children (under 13). No cats: We reccomend Milo be placed in a home with no cats due to him Hard barks/growling at cats on walks and in the prior home. Recommend No Dog Parks: Due to the concerning behaviors that Milo has shown during playgroup (see DOG-DOG SUMMARY), we feel that he should not visit dog parks. The Behavior Department recommends that he be socialized in a more controlled setting until his behavior towards other dogs can be further addressed. Reward-based, force-free training can be utilized to help Milo associate dogs with things he enjoys like toys or treats.

Fearful: During Milo medical exam he is noted howling and baring, crying, hyperactive , very treat motivated when attempting blood draw, pet started alligator roll. These behaviors suggest that Milo struggles with handling and medical procedures, and will benefit from low-stress handling techniques, gradual desensitization, and allowing breaks to prevent escalation. Please see the handout on decompression period. Separation anxiety/Anxiety: He has general anxiety and can be anxious when left alone. Supporting him with gradual independence training, enrichment, and predictable routines may help reduce separation-related distres. On-leash reactivity/barrier frustration: On walks, he is reactive towards cats and other dogs with his reaction being to growl or hard bark.
