Bite history:: Payso was reported to have bitten an 8-year-old child and an older woman in the previous home. Both victims went to the hospital for their injuries. On 6/16, the owner's boyfriend's child was playing with Payso after being taken out of the crate. Payso caught her arm while trying to grab the ball. The next incident occurred 10-15 minutes later, after he was placed back in the crate. Payso then broke out when the owner's mother came to the home. However, her mom did not know & panicked, in both incidents she stated he did hold on & let go when the victims pulled away.

Date of assessment:: 6/18/2026

Summary:: Payso was brought to the care center after a 911 call for a bite incident in a home. Officers stated that the Payso bit an 8-year-old child and a senior woman in the home. The child was bitten on the arm, and the woman on the side of her body. It was reported to be a bite and hold, only releasing when the victims pulled away. Due to Payso's bite history, he is not an appropriate candidate for a handling assessment.

Summary (7):: 6/26/26: (AM)Payso is reported to not move over to his side of the kennel during cleaning. Staff try high value and spend 30 min trying to have him cross over. He doesn’t cross over and behavioral handlers are able to double leash and move him into the kennel behind him; however, he then resisted returning to his original kennel. He had to be re-leashed and muscled back to his original kennel. During (PM) room cleaning, he didn't want to move over his transfer door side. He double-leashed again, but once in the hallway he began leash biting. Treats were offered but refused. A Pet Corrector was used, which helped him regain focus and accept treats. ACS was able to quickly clean the kennel, after which Payso had to be muscle back inside. 6/23: Payso is reported to not move over to his side of the kennel during cleaning. An ACS tried for several minutes before a handler was asked to assist. The handler uses cheese to coax Payso over. But this also takes some time as he is trembling and flinching as he finally crosses over for more cheese. 6/20/26: Payso is at the front of the kennel with a tense frame as the handler approaches. He will stand at the door on his hind legs and will eat some treats through the door, loosening slightly. The handler tosses some treats into the kennel and he will eat them as they walk away. 6/17: Payso is sitting quietly at the front of his kennel when a handler approaches. He remains seated, gives a short lip lick before sniffing the offered treats. He takes them with a soft mouth and stays in place while his picture is taken. He offers no other reaction nor engages with the handler other than taking treats.
