I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 10/20/2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- loss of income.

Einstein is at risk due to Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex which is contagious to other dogs. Einstein will require in home care with a course of antibiotics. There are no known behavior concerns for Einstein (Average determination) however he did come in with bite wounds of unknown origin and will require a 6 month observation with the Dept. of Health.

Neutered male Scan negative for a microchip BAR Has bite wounds on the right hind leg and thigh area. Also, there's a puncture wound toward the backside--this one is draining on its own. No wounds seen by the genital area Was shaved, flushed, and cleaned with Novalsan solution. Has about 3 to 4 bite wounds. Alerted the on call vet and medication was prescribed. Clavamox 250mg--1 Tab by mouth BID x 7 days Rimadyl 75mg--1/4 of tablet by mouth BID for 2 days 1st doses for both medications started tonight OU=clear Nose= No discharge AU=clean Teeth have mild staining Coat is clean Dewormed with Pyrantel Flea Treatment= Para Defense As of now no signs of CIRDC As of now no V/S/C/D

The backside bite wound is draining on it's own Area was shaved, flushed, and cleaned with Nolvasan solution. Can't apply pressure on the RHL As per the on call vet medication was prescribed: 1/4 of a tablet of Rimadyl 75mg PO BID x2 1 tablet of Clavamox 250mg PO BID x 7 OU=clear Nose= No discharge AU=clean Teeth are stained Coat is clean Dewormed with Pyrantel Flea Treatment= Para Defense As of now no signs of CIRDC As of now no V/S/C/D Will be kept in medical for further observation

[DVM Intake] DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 4y History : bit by other dog, owned Subjective: QAR, painful Observed Behavior - NWB RHL Evidence of Cruelty seen -no Evidence of Trauma seen -yes RHL Objective P = 120 R = 30 BCS 4/9 Sedated pre-exam with 0.4 cc SC hydromorphone EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: MN MSI: Ambulatory w grade 4/4 RHL lameness, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat, RHL thigh swelling with ecchymotic hemorrhage 3 puncture wounds (1 caudal to stifle, 2 cranial to stifle). Caudal and distal wounds found to have 1 inch pocket. CNS: Mentation appropriate - no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: DNE Sedated with 0.2 cc dexdomitor for radiographs--wnl Assessment Bite wounds-- ST damage Prognosis: good Plan: Iced wounds, Rimadyl 0.7 ml SC, 1 cc pen g SC. Flushed all wounds with nolvasan/LRS, 0.8 cc cerenia SC. continue on oral rimadyl, tramadol, and clavamox. Monitor for abscess formation.

Recheck, presented with dog bite wounds to RH, rads WNL S/O BAR, very excited and friendly; adorable! mild serous nasal discharge, no sneezing or coughing noted RH-mild weight-bearing lameness; edematous swelling along entire limb but appears to be improving bite wounds along R thigh appear to be healing appropriately A Dog bite wounds P was signed up for Clavamox 250 mg and 125 mg tabs; will d/c and start 375 mg tab PO BID for remainder of course

Recheck bite wounds to RH, on rimadyl and clavamox S/O -BAR, excited and energetic! friendly and allows handling -scant serous nasal discharge, no sneezing or coughing noted -RH: mild weight bearing lameness; moderate to severe edematous drainage along hock and distal limb but no swelling along thigh where bite wounds are present -bite wounds along medial and lateral aspect of R thigh, all wounds have good granulation tissue and crusting present with no active drainage or swelling; allows palpation of area A Dog bite wounds-healing well; edematous drainage distally P CWCT, extended rimadyl through 10/29

Day 10 of treatment for CIRDC. Pt was reported yesterday as having a phlegmy cough. Today pt is at the front of the kennel, tail wagging hard, occasionally whining. No nasal discharge is noted. Cough - R/O residual cough vs. active inflammation - R/O tomorrow. 1088

Look:: 1. Dog's eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. Allows head to be held loosely in Assessor's cupped hands.
Sensitivity:: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, tail is between legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick.
Tag:: 1. Dog follows at the end of the leash, body soft.
Paw squeeze 1:: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Eyes are averted and ears are relaxed or back.
