Animal Profile

Papa

Hello, my name is Papa. My animal id is #12458. I am a male white dog at the . The shelter thinks I am about 12 years old.

I came into the shelter as a aco impound on 11/13/2017, with the surrender reason stated as poor choice - too many animals already.

Someone has already placed a deposit on me. I'm no longer available.

Papa is at risk due to medical concerns. Papa is a geriatric gentleman, who finds movement in the kennel environment extremely difficult. Behaviorally, Papa has demonstrated a calm manner in the shelter, and has been assessed as suitable for most homes who could provide his required medical care.

Let's get to know each other a bit more...

A volunteer writes: Papa is the cutest name for this elderly gentleman of mysterious lineage. I guess, ancestry.com might have the final word. Papa is dressed in the shiniest cow print coat, shedding by place its semi long hair. We could not resist but to groom him with a Barbie doll brush which he tolerated perfectly. He looked quite sharp afterwards. I love his big dark eyes that make him look so gentle. I mostly admire Papa's will to do all that a younger dog would do, like climbing and going down stairs, walking around the yard, sitting (slowly) on command and eating treats with great appetite. Of course, Papa being quite arthritic, everything happens in slow motion, but it happens because he is "willing, ready and able". Papa came to us in the best company, lovely Champagne(a three year old gal) and...10 cats. I guess he must love kitties quite a bit to have been able to put up with ten of them. Sweet Papa is in need of TLC and a caring home that understands and values seniors. A comfy bed, delicious food and mostly the love of a new human or family who will make sure that Papa's golden years are truly shiny. Papa is at the Manhattan Care Center, dreaming to be your friend.
