Junior

Junior is on the At Risk list due to behavior. He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. Due to his stress levels, it is in his best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. He would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give him plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers.

Bella
|
Bella is on the at-risk list due to behavioral reasons. Bella has been observed to quickly become over aroused in the care center. She has been observed to wrap her legs around handlers and mount them. In kennel Bella has been observed to become over aroused when handlers attempt to leash her and begin snapping at their hands. Bella has made contact but has not broken skin. Currently, Bella is struggling with her reactivity towards dogs, cage fighting on her way out of the kennel room, not easily distracted and has redirected onto handlers belongs such as their treat pouch and sweater. Bella has been receptive to treats, focusing on handler on walks and will sit for treats. Medically Bella is currently healthy.

Hero
|
Hero is at risk due due to behavior concerns. Hero is known to show high reactivity toward other dogs and difficulty managing arousal in high-stimulus environments. He frequently lunges, barks, jumps, and pulls hard on the leash when near other dogs or passing kennels, attempting to grab other dogs' paws. While attempts to redirect him with treats or training games are sometimes effective. On one occasion each time a dog passes, Hero lunges forward, jumping high into the air with enough force to fall onto his back. The handler shortens the lead, attempting to redirect him, but Hero head whips toward the handler before turning back to watch the other dog. Medically, Hero is underweight.

Hawk
|
Hawk is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Hawk has a multiple bite history, he was noted to get aroused during play and applied intense pressure. He also recently got into an altercation with the resident dog. Hawk is also on leash reactive, he will lunge towards small animals and scooters. With handlers Hawk is observed to be receptive to treats. Medically Hawk is apparently healthy.

Jeleah
|
Jeleah has been added to the at-risk list for medical reasons. She is a geriatric cats that has had elevated blood sugar and sugar in urine. She is diabetic but has not required insulin yet and is being maintained at the moment on special diet. She needs care and attention that we cannot provide.

Queen
|
Queen is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Queen was brought into the care centers for fighting with the other resident dog in the home. Her previous owner stated that she has always been dog reactive, and would consistently get into intense fights with the other resident dog, resulting in broken skin. She also noted that Queen will resource guard her food from the other dog, snapping when approached. In care she has tolerated all handling but remains fearful with a low head and tail, pinned back ears, and hunched shoulders when walking. She is noted to hard bark and growl at strangers and remained tense both during her intake and assessment. With handlers she has slowly become more social, accepting soft pets. Medically, Queen is apparently healthy.

Calypso
|
Calypso is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Calypso has a history of being on leash reactive. Noted to hard bark, lunge, and attempt to bite other dogs while on leash. Calypso's previous owner states that she will also react to people, children, cats and other small animals. While with handlers Calypso has been observed to be treat motivated. Medically Calypso is apparently healthy.

Tyson-Dyson
|
Tyson-Dyson is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Tyson-Dyson has displayed a concerning level of arousal which is manifesting as leash biting. When attempting to leash him for walks, Tyson-Dyson will bite and latch onto leads, pulling them into his kennel. High-value treats and soft/plush toys are currently being used to redirect him in the kennel for him to be leashed successfully. But these items are starting to loose their value and his leash biting is intensifying. Tyson-Dyson has shown social behaviors with staff and handlers, engages with enrichment games, and seeks attention. medically, Tyson-Dyson is apparently healthy.

King Concierge
|
King Concierge is at risk due to behavior concerns. King Concierge was brought to us due to owner stating they are no longer able to handle his care after being involved in bite incident with the resident cat in the home. It was also reported King Concierge was involved in an incident with another dog in his building. The other dog didn't have broken skin or injuries. In the Care Centers, he is highly reactive but is social with staff. Medically, King Concierge is underweight.

Luccien
|
Luccien is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Luccien was brought into the care centers as a stray. Upon intake he displayed social behavior, loose body and a wagging tail, as well as some rope reactivity as he began to leash bite. In the care centers he has been observed and reported to bite the leash while on walks, while exiting and returning to kennel, and is not easily redirectable. His leash biting has progressively intensified, and it always escalates to mouthiness or mounting. While jumping up and leash biting, Luccien has been observed to mouth handlers arms, legs, and jacket. He has tolerated all handling in the care centers and has social moments with handler. Medically, apparently Luccien is healthy.

Pretty
|
Pretty is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Pretty has been observed to be having a difficult time settling in kennel. Pretty is often observed to be barking at the transfer door. Pretty is also noticed to be dog reactive. She will pull hard towards dogs while barking. Her previous owner states that she will also lunge towards cats and children. While out with handlers is observed to have a neutral body. Medically Pretty has canine mammary tumors, a mass, and periodontal disease.

Mokey is at risk for behavior reasons. Mokey has been observed to resource guard high value foods. He will take treats very rough and has broken the skin of a staff member while in care. He has done well with being scatter fed in the yard. He allows all handling from staff and accepts pets becoming mouthy at times. Medically, he has had diarrhea in care and is currently on an EN diet.

Zeus is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Zeus has been observed to escalate to hard barking, lunging, and snapping during intake. Due to his intake behavior Zeus received very limited interactions. |
Billy is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns. Billy has been highly stressed in the shelter environment despite best efforts to keep him comfortable. Billy throughout the day will bang on his kennel door incessantly, triggering the other dogs stress levels in the room to begin barking. Billy is a social dog with staff but struggling within the care center. Medically, Billy has dental disease.

Marble
|
Marble is at risk due to medical reasons. He is underweight and diabetic. He does not tolerate medical handling and cannot safely receive insulin in shelter due to his high FAS. Behaviorally, Marble is extremely fearful and will swat and hiss when approached.

Pongo
|
Pongo is at risk due to behavior issues. Pongo is very fearful in the Care Centers and refuses to leave his kennel or the building for majority of the staff. When staff attempted to interact with him, he displayed signs of fear, such as hard eyes, body tension, and a low growl. However, he has shown some sociability with a few select staff members and is gradually opening up to them. His owner noted that Pongo tends to bark and growl at strangers when outside, but also mentioned that he is affectionate with children and gets along well with other dogs. Medically, Pongo is apparently healthy.

Iceland
|
Iceland is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Iceland has been noted to be highly fearful during her stay in the care center. Observed to keep her distance from handlers with a tense body and lip licking, and flinching from sudden noises. During intake Iceland escalated to snapping at a handler when they attempted to pick her up. Iceland has also been observed to be stressed in kennel. Noted to be panting heavily, jumping on the walls and painting her kennel in feces. Medically Iceland is underweight.

Cherry
|
Cherry is at risk due to kennel stress and deterioration in care. Cherry has shown social behavior with the handler and does engage with enrichment games but She also displayed repetitive stress-related behaviors, such as barking at the corner of her kennel, heavy salivating, panting, and dilated pupils. Cherry frequently climbs kennel walls, vocalizes excessively, and shows frustration by jumping and crying as other dogs pass by. Medically Cherry has Dental disease and a Mass.
