He is now displaying signs of overstimulation and being uncomfortable with handling as he resorts to nipping or swatting. He would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give him plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers.

Without providing activity for his mind and body, the cat may react with rough play, potentially resulting in bite/scratch incidents. Poppy is at risk due to behavior concerns. Poppy is struggling with kennel stress and arousal behavior in care, including repeated lunging, hard barking, hypersalivation, and pawing at the kennel door. She has been observed to rebound off the kennel glass, bare her teeth, and fixate on handlers in a heightened arousal state. These behaviors are primarily seen when she is in her kennel and appear to be barrier-related. Outside of the kennel, Poppy has shown a more neutral behavior and will calmly on leash, lean into petting, and engage with enrichment. Medically Poppy is apparently healthy.

Mamma Mia
|
Mamma Mia is at risk due to a pattern of escalating overarousal, impulsivity, and reactivity that has proven difficult to manage in the shelter environment. She frequently exhibits intense behaviors such as excessive jumping, hard leash pulling to the point of physical distress, and lunging with an open mouth toward other dogs, often bouncing off handlers’ bodies in the process. She is highly vocal, mouthy during interactions and struggles to settle or respond to redirection, even with treats or modified handling techniques. Though she can present as wiggly and social in calmer moments and engages positively with enrichment at times, similar behaviors were reported in a previous home, including generalized anxiety, leash biting, and resource guarding. Medically, Mamma Mia is apparently healthy.

Powder
|
Powder is at risk due to medical reasons. Powder came to the shelter with a history of vomiting. In shelter she tested positive for panleukopenia, but seems to be responding well to treatment, including antibody administration, and supportive care. Powder has been timid, but has allowed all handling for her treatments. Powder will need to remain in isolation until her panleukopenia has cleared.

Razzles
|
Razzle is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Razzle initially appeared tense and fearful during her stay. When handlers approached, she would escalate to growling and baring her teeth. On one occasion, while a handler was interacting with a dog in the kennel next to hers, Razzle began growling and, when the handler attempted to engage with her, she escalated to baring her teeth. Over time, Razzle has begun to warm up to staff; however, she continues to display concerning behaviors around other dogs. During a recent walk, she lunged at another dog then scramble towards them with such force that she caused herself to fall over. Medically, Razzle has CIRDC and is not eating. She also has dental disease, nerve deficits in her hind limbs and otitis externa.

Spears
|
Spears is at risk due to behavioral reasons. During his stay he has been observed to have a low threshold for arousal and be highly kennel reactive. Spears has been observed to jump up on handlers and begin growling after playing. During one instance when a handler attempted to place a leash on him, Spears began to jump up and bite the leash and in another one, in the kennel room, Spears is noted to nip the handler after reacting to the other dogs. While on the street Spears will fixate on other dogs with a forwards stiff body, and furrowed brow. Medically Spears has chronic otitis and is underweight.

Underdog is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Underdog arrived at MACC following a bite incident. Underdog was loose walking around a gate outside. Underdog then bit the family member on the left hand leaving puncture wounds on the lower edge of the hand. This bite was a bite and release. During intake Underdog was reported to have a loose body and wagging tail. Medically Underdog has pneumonia and dental disease .

Ryder is at risk due to behavior concerns. Ryder came ot us with a bite history in the prior home. In the home, she bit a family member who raised their hand while she was approaching the person for food, resulting in 2 puncture wounds on the arm. In the care center, Ruyder was fearful but quickly warmed up with the handlers. Medically Ryder has Alopecia, Osteoarthritis,and Otitis Externa.

|
Teo is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns. Teo in the care center has not been acclimating to the care center and remains fearful. Teo in the care center is aloof with staff, avoiding interaction and will grumble when attempting to interact or coax, despite best efforts to keep him comfortable. Teo has also began to jump in kennel throughout the day as well as mount staff. Medically, Teo is clinically healthy.

Mushu
|
Mushu is at risk due to behavior concerns. While he can be social and responsive with familiar handlers, Mushu frequently retreats to the back of his kennel, dodges the leash, or requires treat luring to be removed from his kennel. He has made progress with muzzle training, often placing his face in the muzzle and allowing brief strapping, though he can become avoidant if not properly reinforced. Mushu has exhibited concerning behaviors such as grabbing at a staff member during a walk and intermittent leash biting, where he would pull staff/handlers' leads to the back of his kennel. On walks, he tends to pull strongly, jump on handlers for treats, and show difficulty managing arousal, especially around other dogs. Medically, Mushu has dermatitis.

Kloe
|
Kloe is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Kloe is showing significant signs of deterioration in kennel. She has been noted to becoming increasingly restless, persistently jumping and spinning in her kennel regardless of room activity levels. The spinning is more prevalent during active room times. This persistent jumping is causing Kloe's kennel to be covered in her own feces; additionally blood has been found in her kennel indicating a self-inflicted injury likely from her persistent jumping in kennel. Kloe is noted to be leash reactive with dogs, but is able to be redirected and is manageable. Kloe is highly social with staff. Medically, Kloe is healthy.

Stewart
|
Stewart is at-risk due to behavior concerns. He arrived as a stray with little known history. Stewart has tolerated all handling during his stay at the care centers. Steward is fairly food motivated and has been able to occasionally be redirected away from fixating on dogs and leash biting. On the street, he has been observed to be somewhat frantic, pacing, heavily panting, and pulling back to care centers. Medically, he apparently has a fractured tooth, dermatitis, dental disease, and brachycephalic syndrome.
