Lucky
|
Lucky is at risk due to behavioral concerns. His caretaker reports he is social with strangers and a resident small dog, but he growls at small animals during walks and guards food and treats, escalating to growling, tensing, and snapping if disturbed. At the shelter, Lucky struggled with acclimating, becoming uncomfortable with leashing and touch, often thrashing or dodging attempts. Over time, he accepted treats, collaring, and play with toys, but during an attempt for handling assessment, he charged and tried to bite the handler and once separated by a second handler, Lucky attempts to return to the first to continue the aforementioned behaviors. Medically, Lucky is reportedly healthy medically.

Butterfly
|
Butterfly is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Butterfly has been deteriorating in care despite best efforts to keep her comfortable. She was initially fearful but quickly warmed up to staff and handlers - displaying a soft frame being easily leashed to remove from the kennel, and accepting of parting. However, she has begun to lunge at kennels when being walked out of the kennel room and will hard stare at other dogs, remaining stiff and fixated. Butterfly has been seen twirling off her kennel walls and licking the glass due to kennel stress. Medically, Butterfly has been diagnosed with CIRDC.

Truffle
|
Truffle is at risk due to behavior concerns. Truffle was brought into the care center as a stray. Upon intake Truffle is leash reactive, barking and pulling hard towards dogs. In the beginning of his stay Truffle mounts staffs legs and leaves bruises. Truffle is not able to redirected with treats and squeaky toys during his mounting. Truffle is also observed to have kennel stress as he is hypersalivating and hard panting in kennel. Recently, it was reported that Truffle is persistently jumping up and pushing up on the top kennel. However, during training sessions Truffle is engaged and receptive to treats. Despite our best efforts by offering daily enrichment Truffle is having a hard time adjusting to the stress of the environment. Medically, Truffle is healthy. He does have brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome.

Silvia
|
Silvia is on the at-risk list due to medical and behavior. Medically, Silvia has ocular abnormaltity and should recieve a consult from an ophthalmologist. She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. While she used to allow touch and pets, she no longer is tolerant of touch and is evasive, attempting to flee from the scratcher tool. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. Due to her stress levels, it is in her best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. She would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give her plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers.

Cupcake is at risk due to Cupcake having displayed both concerning and positive behavior patterns while in the care center. Cupcake was involved in a bite incident in her foster home as a result of an altercation with the resident dog. Both bites broke the skin and drew blood. Cupcake's behavior in the care center has shown variability. She is easily leashed, engages in play with toys, seeks treats and attention from staff and handlers, with a loose and wiggly body. However, she has also demonstrated moments of reactivity, such as hard barking and growling when people approach her kennel and at times towards other dogs. Medically, Cupcake is apparently healthy.

Soybean is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Soybean arrived at the care center as a stray, where she jumped socially on staff with a loose and wiggly body. In the care center, Soybean has been observed to leash bite, which is not easily redirectable, but she will take treats gently. Recently, the leash biting has become more intense. With one instance of her jumping on the handler with an open mouth and catching the handler's hand but did not break skin. Despite our best efforts by offering daily enrichment Soybean is having a hard time adjusting to the stress of the environment. Medically, Soybean has dermatitis.

|
Noir is at risk due to deterioration from length of stay. Despite attempts to keep Noir comfortable, he has displayed chronic kennel stress and anxiety, hypervigilance, inability to focus, panting heavily, mouthiness, jumping incessantly, with a flushed face and dilated pupils. He has begun to hypersalivate, soaking his chin and neck in saliva. Noir has demonstrated on-leash reactivity towards small dogs, barking and lunging and has been noted to hover over toys. He allows contact from staff and engages readily with enrichment items. Medically, Noir is apparently healthy.

Zyia is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns. Zyia in care has been struggling in her kennel, jumping on her kennel door incessantly and unable to settle on her own outside on walks. Zyia in care is also highly dog reactive, and observed to lunge/hard bark at other dogs on leash. Zyia is a social dog who is struggling to acclimate despite best efforts to keep her comfortable. Medically, Zyia is apparently healthy.

|
Oso is at risk due to behavior concerns. Oso arrived too the care center as a stray, when rangers found her tied to the fence Oso lunged, hard, barked and growled at them. In the care center, Oso does accept treats on occasion and allows petting. Oso is continuously fearful in the shelter environment; she refuses to return back to kennel as she baulks and pancakes. Resulting in handlers having to muscle her back or using a sling to return to kennel. Despite our best efforts by offering daily enrichment Oso is having a hard time adjusting to the stress of the environment. Medically, Oso has CIRDC.

|
Toby is at risk for behavior concerns. Toby arrived at the care center as an owner surrender. The owner mentioned that Toby enjoys playing in the water and is generally relaxed at home. However, they also reported that Toby exhibits resource guarding behavior with certain individuals, which includes hard barking and snapping. Upon intake, Toby was reported to hard barking and growling while in the crate at Staff. In the care center, Toby remains fearful, tensing up, flinching and backing away when staff attempts to collar him. Medically, Toby is apparently healthy.

Jack-O-Lantern
|
Jack-O-Lantern is at risk due to behavior concerns. Jack arrived at the care center as an owner surrender. During intake jack was friendly and outgoing with staff, jumping socially and taking treats gently. In the care center, Jack continues to jump on staff but is redirected with treat scatters. In kennel, Jack is observed to hyper salivate, hard pant and bite and tug on his leash unable to be redirected with treats or toys. Recently, Jack has begun kennel fighting with multiple instances of him spinning back on the handler, with an open mouth but not making contact. Despite our best efforts by offering daily enrichment Jack is having a hard time adjusting to the stress of the environment. Medically, Jack is apparently healthy.

|
Dolphin is at risk for behavioral concerns. Dolphin arrived at the care center as a stray. Upon intake, Dolphin would jump socially on staff and allowed handling. When other dogs came through the lobby Dolphin began to hard stare followed by barking. In the care center, has been observed to become over aroused quickly, jumping up on handlers, mouthing their hands and arms, and leash biting which are redirected with treats. While on walks Dolphin remains hyper vigilant of his surroundings. Medically, Dolphin is apparently healthy.

|
Iron Titus is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Iron arrived at the care center as a stray. During intake Iron allowed handling and took treats gently. However, he grew anxious and began to heavy pant, whining and hypervigilant of his surroundings. In the care center, Iron Titus remains anxious as he is observed to whine and vocalize. Titus also becomes over aroused in the presence of people, jumping up and mounting them. In a recent incident, Titus grabbed onto someone pants and ripped it when he was mounting. Medically, Iron is apparently healthy.

Rigatoni is social with staff members. Medically, Rigatoni is apparently healthy.
