Oats is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Oats arrived at the Care Center with no known history. Upon intake Oats was social with staff, allowed all handling and was loose bodied for his medical exam. During handling assessments and at times with staff, Oats displays a low threshold for arousal. Noted to head whip back and forth with an open mouth upon contact and will jump up to bite the leash. Oats has also shown on-leash reactivity towards dogs, pulling hard towards other dogs with a tense body, and rear up on his hind legs. While out with handlers he is observed to be social, solicit contact, and is receptive to treats. Medically Oats is apparently healthy.

Baklava is at risk for behavioral concerns. Baklava arrived at the Care Center as a stray with no known history. Upon his intake, Baklava was noted to be social and wiggly bodied with staff. Despite efforts to keep him comfortable, Baklava has been showing a decreasing threshold for arousal. Baklava has been reported to be leash biting and alligator roll with escalating intensity. At times, this is manageable with toys and treats, but he is not consistently able to be redirected. Additionally Baklava has been noted to attempt to mount handlers. With staff, Baklava continues to be social and treat motivated. Medically Baklava is apparently healthy.

Brownie is at risk for behavioral concerns. Brownie has begun to deteriorate despite the best efforts to keep her comfortable during her stay. While Brownie has show highly social behaviors with handlers, she quickly becomes aroused and begins leash biting or will start to grab treat pouches (pulling on them once she has a hold), jacket sleeves, pants, safety tools that handler's are carrying with moderate-hard pressure; she has caught a handler's thigh and another's hand and back of their thigh, leaving some bruising. Medically, Brownie has dental disease but is otherwise healthy.

Moose is at risk for behavior reasons. Moose is deteriorating in the shelter environment. Moose was highly fearful initially but warmed up with staff relatively quickly. Lately he has been fearful of new people, hard barking at volunteers. There was a bite incident during an interaction with handler and Moose snapped towards handler moving forward to pet him. This bite did not break the skin but left bruising. He requires slow introductions to new people. Medically, Moose has mild dental disease but is otherwise healthy.

Bark Vader is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Bark Vader arrived at the Care Center as a stray with no known history. Upon intake Bark Vader was reported to be social with staff and allowed handling. Despite efforts to keep him comfortable, Bark Vader has been showing significant on-leash reactivity and has become difficult to return to kennel safely. Bark Vader is reported to pull hard to occupied kennels, and when on walks pulls hard toward dogs with tense body and is difficult to redirect. At times, Bark Vader has resisted re-entering his kennel, baulking intensely, thrashing, and head whipping when attempting to clip his leash requiring the assistance of a secondary handler. With staff he remains treat motivated. Medically, Bark Vader is being treated for CIRDC.

Bruno is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns in the care center as well and in his previous home. Bruno has shown high arousal and frustration in the care center, including high level of leash biting during his reassessment and being unable to refocused with toys or treats. It is reported in his previous home that he growls, hard barks, and lunges toward strangers, dogs, and small animals on walks. When food, treats, or toys are handled, he becomes tense and hovers over the item, escalating to growling or hard barking when his warnings are not respected. Medically, Bruno has dental disease and apparently healthy.

Brownstone

Brownstone is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns. Brownstone has been intensely fearful and avoidant in the care center, repeatedly retreating from leashing attempts, growling, hard barking, and pacing between the front and back of his kennel. During sessions, Brownstone maintains a low, tense frame with tucked tail, whale eyes, and exit-seeking behavior, skittering away from handlers and vocalizing when overwhelmed. He becomes somewhat more comfortable with familiar handlers, loosening his body and approaching for gentle treats, but remains highly sensitive to handling pressure and unfamiliar environments and is unable to complete a handling assessment. Medically, Brownstone is apparently healthy.

Arden is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Arden has been observed to be fearful during his stay in the care center. Noted to have a tense body and whale eyes when handlers interact with him. During one instance when a handlers was attempting to leash him Arden began growling at them. With time, Arden has warmed up to select staff, allowing contact and taking treats gently. Medically, Arden has dental disease and a wound.

Minnie has shown persistent fearfulness in in the care center, approaching handlers but maintaining a tense frame, tucked tail, and displaying stress signals such as lip licking and yawning during contact. She is hesitant during leashing and remains cautious in new environments, though she will lean into handlers once settled, she struggles to acclimate to the care center environment. Medically, Minnie has dental disease but is otherwise healthy.

Jazzy J is at risk due to behavioral reasons. When he first arrived Jazzy was obsvered to be tense and avoidant of the handler. During intake he escalated to growling and baring teeth. Recently Jazzy has been obsvered to be on leash reactive and rope reactive. He is observed to hard stare towards dogs and people. While on leash Jazzy is reported to bite the leash intensely. Jumping up on handlers before pushing off of them in an attempt to bite the leash. Medically, Jazzy has CIRDC and diarrhea.

Bentley is at risk due to behavioral reasons. During his stay in the care center Bentley has been obsvered to be mouthie and rope reactive. Noted to mouth handlers on their hands and arms. Bentley is also obsvered to jump up and bite the leash intensely, this behavior is not easily redirectable. During one instance while biting the leash Bentley bit the handler on their tricep holding for a few seconds. This incident did not break skin. His previous owner states that he will lunge towards strangers and small animals. Medically, Bentley has unspecified dermatitis, had an incidental GI foreign body that passed/resolved in September, and otitis externa.

Sasha is going at risk due to behavioral concerns. Sasha came to the Care Center as an owner surrender. During her stay at the Care Center, it has been observed that she is hypersalivating in kennel. When handlers attempt to leash she is hard barking, growling, and bares teeth towards the leash along with baulking upon returning to kennel. While on walks she has a low to the ground tense posture with her tail tucked and whale eyes. She is aloof with handlers and has a tense body when they attempt to interact with her. Her previous owner states that she will hard bark and growl towards strangers, children, cars, dogs, and small animals while on leash. Owner also states that Sasha will resource guard food by growling and hard barking. Sasha also has a bite history, the resident child went to touch Sasha while she was eating and Sasha growled and snapped leaving a scrape. Sasha has general anxiety-paces, whines, unable to settle and touch sensitivity to her paws. Owner reported that Sasha is social, affectionate, very active and playful, spending majority of her time in the living room or where people are. She knows the cue to sit and has been taking treats in the Care center. She walks with a little to mild pull on walks. Medically, Sasha has CIRDC.

Ira has displayed high arousal and poor impulse control in the care center, including repeated leash biting, jumping up on handlers, and attempting to grab at their underarm or clothing during walks. However, she is highly kennel reactive and has potential to redirect onto a handler when exiting the room. She has escalated to higher level warnings, snarling at other dogs at the gate and will react on leash from a distance. She should be the only dog. Medically, she has dental disease and is overweight. Hypothyroidism ruled out as underlying cause

Upon his arrival Peanut Butter was social with staff and allowed handling for his intake medical exam. Despite efforts to keep him comfortable, Peanut Butter is showing a concerning decreasing threshold for arousal. During walks, Peanut Butter has been reported to hyper-fixate on random objects such as traffic cones, at times jumping and snapping toward handlers, and is not able to be redirected consistently. With staff and when not over threshold, Peanut Butter is social, allows petting, and is treat motivated. Medically, Peanut Butter is noted to have undetermined allergies but is otherwise healty.

Ken has shown deterioration behaviors and leash-biting in the care center, with saliva-smeared kennel doors and reports of grabbing the leash while trying to remove him from kennel, despite best efforts to try and keep him comfortable.
