Georgia is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Georgia has a multiple bite history towards other dogs. While in care Georgia has been observed to be highly fearful. Noted to have a tense body, tucked tail, and showing whale eye. She is also observed to be reluctant to exit kennel. Her previous owner describes her a social and affectionate dog. With time and a slow approach, Georgia has allowed easier leashing for walks and allowed gentle contact with select staff. Medically, Georgia has pneumonia.

In the care center, Angel is struggling to acclimate to the care center environment, including repeated jumping on the kennel door, barking, and difficulty settling. He did have an altercation with another dog after getting loose from his crate, but the bite to the other dog did not break skin. Angel is highly responsive to training, quickly learns new cues, and is social with staff. Medically, Angel is underweight.

In the care center, Ranch Dressin displays fearful behavior, including a low body, tucked tail, shaking, and avoidance of handlers, often staying near exits. Ranch Dressin will approach handlers on his own terms when given the choice to, but struggles to acclimate in the care center environment. In the care center Ranch Dressin is noted to take treats from handlers when slowly approached. Medically, Ranch Dressin is apparently healthy.

Eggsy is at risk due to behavioral reasons. It is reported that Eggsy has bitten two people; however, limited details were acquired. While in care, Eggsy has been observed to become overaroused. Noted to head whip when handlers initiate contact. With handlers Eggsy is exuberant, social, allows all contact, and receptive to treats. Medically, Eggsy is apparently healthy.

Stella is at risk due to behavioral reasons.
When Stella initially arrived, she was observed to lunge while in kennel, refuse walks, and head whip when handled. Recently Stella has warmed up to handlers, noted to have a soft body and is easily leashed. However, during her reassessment, Stella escalated to lunging and attempting to bite the handler when they initiated contact. In the home, her owner reported that she guards treats, food, and toys, growls during nail trims, and experiences separation anxiety. Her owner also shared that Stella enjoys belly rubs and loves activities such as fetch, running, hiking, and swimming in rivers or lakes. Medically, Stella is apparently healthy.

Coffee Grounds

Coffee Grounds is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Coffee Grounds arrived at the Care Center as a stray with no known history. Upon arrival Coffee Grounds was noted to be fearful but did warm up to staff. Coffee Grounds was noted be social during her handling assessment, approaching staff readily and highly treat receptive. Unfortunately, Coffee Grounds has recently begun to leash bite with more consistency and at times is difficult to handle safely. Handlers have had some success with redirecting Coffee Grounds with treats and squeaker toys, but it is difficult to do so. Medically, Coffee Grounds is apparently healthy.

Peanut

Peanut is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Peanut has been showing signs of kennel stress and deterioration as her length of stay progresses despite best efforts to keep her comfortable. She has been seen jumping to the top of her kennel or the kennel door, fingerpainting her kennel with feces, and attempting to engage in a kennel fight once out of her kennel. Peanut engages in training sessions in a calmer setting and readily engages in play with soft/plush toys. Medically, Peanut is apparently healthy.

Gambit is at risk due to behavior concerns. Gambit has not acclimated well to the shelter environment and has been stressed despite best efforts to keep him comfortable. In his crate, Gambit has been reactive to a neighboring dog and has escalated to growling, snarling, and snapping at staff when approached. He was noted to briefly lean into petting from a handler, but remains mostly tense with most interactions. His previous owner did report that he does not get along with children, other dogs, and does resource guards food, and treats from other dogs. Medically, Gambit has dental disease, a wound, and is emaciated.

Yuro is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Yuro can be loose and wiggly with handlers and staff, readily accepting treats and toys. On his initial handling assessment and his reassessment, Yuro has displayed a concerning level of resource guarding - completely bypassing the toy and immediately grabbing onto the prop hand, remaining fixated. When removing him from the kennel, Yuro begins leash biting and has recently begun to fight with neighboring dogs in the kennel. Medically, Yuro is apparently healthy.

WHile he has struggled to adjust to the shelter setting, he previously tolerated some touch and interaction with behavior staff. He is now displaying signs of more significant signs of Fearfully Defensive Behaviors due to his high levels of FAS. Due to his stress levels, it is in his best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. He would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give him plenty of time and space to decompress at his own pace and approach on his own terms so as to not feel pressured or cornered - and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers.

Kahrin

Kahrin is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns. In the care center, Kahrin displays a high level of fearfulness including growling, vocalizing, backing away during leashing, and reluctance exiting kennel. Once out, she can walk on leash but often maintains a tense body, low tail, scanning behavior, and limited interest in food or toys. She may also startle and dart forward in response to sudden environmental sounds. Kahrin is able to be leashed and complete walks, and can return to kennel without issue but is stuggling to acclimate in the care center. Medically, Kahrin is noted to be overweight.

Poseidon is at risk for behavior reasons. Poseidon is an energetic dog with a low threshold for arousal. Poseidon quickly escalates to leash-biting while growling. He is persistent in his attempts to bite the leash and only able to be interrupted momentarily before returning to the behavior. He is a strong dog. Medically, he is apparently healthy.

Coco Choco

Coco Choco is at risk due to behavioral concerns. Coco Choco arrived at the Care Center as an owner surrender. Coco Choco's previous owner reported her as social and affectionate. Upon intake Coco Choco was noted to be fearful during her handling assessment but did tolerate contact. Unfortunately, despite efforts to keep her comfortable, Coco Choco has not acclimated well to the shelter environment. Coco Choco is reported to be consistently heavily panting while in kennel, and at times thrash on leash when returning from walks. Outside of the shelter environment Coco Choco is generally aloof with staff. Medically, Coco Choco was noted to be overweight on entering the shelter, and was started on a special diet. Coco Choco has lost weight during their time here but further testing is recommended as her appetite is not consistent. Coco Choco is also noted to have a slight lip droop which can occur for seeral reasons and further testing would be recommended.

Looper

Looper is at risk due to behavioral reasons. Upon arrival Looper was social with staff, allowed all handling. While in care Looper has been observed to be highly dog reactive. Noted to pull hard towards other dogs while on the street and will lunge towards the other dogs in the kennel room while baring teeth. This behavior is not able to be redirected easily. During one instance after Looper was pulled out of kennel he reacted to the neighboring dog and almost caught the handlers hand. With handlers Looper continues to allow all contact and is receptive to treats. Medically, Looper has diarrhea.

Salem needs at risk placement for medical reasons. He is a young adult male neutered cat with a severe upper respiratory tract infection. He is a curious cat interested in pets and treats when he is feeling well. He is not eating and receiving medication through an esophageal feeding tube in shelter. He needs supportive care in a veterinary clinic to recover.
