Animal Profile

Hello, my name is King. My animal id is #69993. I am a male black dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years 2 weeks old.

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 8/3/2019, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- landlord won't allow.

King is at risk for medical reasons. King was diagnosed with canine infectious respiratory disease complex which is contagious to other animals and will require further care. Behaviorally, King has shown signs of possible resource guarding and becomes uncomfortable around new people. King should go to an adopter familiar with these behaviors.

You may know me from such films as...

Let's get to know each other a bit more...

A volunteer writes: King, a handsome slightly muscular young man, perfectly made and compact, looks at me with puzzled eyes. His tail wags a bit. He comes with prudent steps when I call him, even sits on command but is hesitant to take my treats. He accepts some petting. He feels that I am likely an ok person to be with but I am not his former family. These are uncertain times for King who lived with a teen and cats and although cautious at first, is said to be playful with other dogs. He would be wary of strangers. King needs a new owner who will widen his horizons, build his trust and offer him a new castle. King is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center.

My medical notes are...

Weight: 57 lbs
